AI SPEAKER & KEYNOTES
Dr. Martin Nigsch — AI Expert and Speaker for the DACH Region
Founder of feld.ai in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg (Austria). Builds sovereign AI on his own GPU infrastructure — and speaks about it on stages across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.
About Martin
Martin Nigsch is an Austrian AI entrepreneur and expert in AI agents, document AI, and the productive use of generative AI in business.
A theoretical physicist by training (PhD, TU Wien), he worked as a director at the reinsurer Swiss Re in Zurich, where he led data science and AI teams, drove the build-up of a large-scale digital "tribe" within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, and gained hands-on experience with all state-of-the-art systems — staying hands-on himself even while managing these large-scale initiatives. In 2022 he left the corporate "golden cage" and founded feld.ai in Feldkirch, supported among others by the aws Preseed-DeepTech programme. Today he runs a team of 7 as managing director with sole signatory authority and 90% owner.
feld.ai operates its own air-gapped GPU servers in Feldkirch — no US cloud provider, no API calls to OpenAI or Anthropic. This operator's perspective shapes his talks: no slideware theory, but numbers, architecture decisions, and failed experiments from his own machine room — from model selection and the economics of sovereign infrastructure to the question of where AI agents actually work in business today.
Martin Nigsch is a father of three and lives in Vorarlberg, Austria.
Speaking Topics
Sovereign AI & EU Data Sovereignty
Why sovereignty is a question of jurisdiction, not server location. CLOUD Act, Schrems II, own GPU infrastructure instead of hyperscalers — with feld.ai's full disclosure as a case study: feld.ai sovereignty disclosure.
AI for the Mittelstand
What AI delivers for mid-sized companies today — and what it doesn't. Realistic use cases, effort, ROI, and when running your own infrastructure pays off. From the practice of a 7-person company building AI for the Mittelstand.
Document AI & IDP in Practice
Intelligent document processing beyond the demo: classification, extraction, validation, and human-in-the-loop in production environments — with real recognition rates, edge cases, and integration experience.
LLMs & Agents, Clearly Explained
How large language models and AI agents work, what lies behind the buzzwords, and how to separate hype from substance — accessible for executives and business teams, substantive for engineers.
